Generative AI & Research Communication Workshop

Have you ever tried to communicate your research to someone and struggled to come up with an analogy or metaphor?  Would you like to explore new approaches for sharing your work?  Are you interested in using digital tools such as Generative AI to engage new audiences?

If so, this workshop is for you.  During this hands-on session, attendees will be guided through a series of activities using Generative AI to co-create content to help share their research with the wider public.

We will use Generative AI tools to brainstorm ideas, edit content and even create simple interactive games or quizzes in a coding hackathon (no previous experience required!)  The workshop caters to those who are completely new to Generative AI as well as those using it regularly, as examples and instructions will be provided, which attendees can copy and paste or adapt to their own uses.  We’ll also be looking at some Generative AI pitfalls that researchers need to be aware of.

For the best experience, attendees will need to bring their own laptop.  They will also need access to a Generative AI platform (such as ChatGPT, CoPilot, Gemini or similar).  If you have never used one of these before the session, we will start with a brief introduction and instructions on how to access a tool safely during the workshop.

Networking, head and hand massages, headshots, CV reviews, and quick coaching

The Research Development Team will be on hand to offer CV reviews and quick coaching. CV Reviews, Quick Coaching and Massages are now fully booked!

There will also be informal networking, head and hand massages from the Wellbeing Team, and LinkedIn headshots! Make sure to book early as places will fill up fast.
